About this role

In this permanent role, you’ll be wearing many hats. You’ll be providing financial and strategic support using your experience and knowledge of SAP. There will be ad hoc reporting to assist operations managers, you’ll be coordinating project review meetings with the project manager, and preparing the Financial Review using SAP and financial dashboards, noting action items and follow up.

You’ll have some hands-on responsibilities too – you’ll oversee the preparation of accurate and timely customer invoices for projects, completing month end activities, variance analysis, journal entries and POC accounting, as well as monthly and annual forecasting for the region.

There’s staffing responsibilities too – training and coaching team members to ensure everyone is on board with principles and policies, and on track with improving communication and skills.

You will be a role model for your team – interacting confidently at all levels of management, thinking creatively and proactively to anticipate the needs of the business. You’ll be expected to propose improvements to business processes that will generate time or cost savings. And of course you will be identifying and recommending best practice solutions at all times.

You will be checking for compliance throughout – compliance to government regulations, external audits and SOX, compliance to engineering codes and standards, as well as internal quality assurance policies and procedures.

About you

You are already identifying scope changes, and resolving deviations, and providing engineering support for technical questions for HDPE engineering.

You have specific experience developing and reviewing vendor technical submissions, preparing inspection lists, and schedules for vendor documents.

Must haves:

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred, with 6-8 years of related accounting experience
  • Solid SAP knowledge / experience plus industry knowledge

If you are ready to build on your management experience leading a team, and keen to play a strategic role in larger projects, this role is the one for you.
