About this role

You’ll be working on a range of projects for this global company that provides services for in the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of floating production systems. The company additionally provides operations and maintenance services, safely and efficiently in a range of strategic locations.

As an ATEX-certified E&I Inspector, your focus will be on ensuring quality compliance of electrical and instrumentation equipment. You’ll be inspecting and verifying installation processes, and undertake test and inspection functions for a range of projects. This is essential to deliver an incident-free and reliable workplace in offshore locations – where safety is the #1 priority and quality control is how to achieve it.

Primary duties

Day-today, you’ll plan and undertake inspections, verifying compliance of materials, equipment and processes against vendor data and project specifications. You’ll create an efficient quality control flow to ensure progress against schedule at all stages.

  • Reviewing plans and specifications relating to installation and maintenance of all electrical and instrumentation systems on floating production and storage projects for oil and gas offshore locations
  • Providing technical supervision and assistance for E&I systems
  • Leading and managing ATEX inspection schedules through effective coordination and communication using a range of tools and methods
  • Monitoring project progress, inspecting all completed work for deficiencies and recommending remediation, collating all relevant documentation relating to ATEX inspections and building IEC verification
  • Reporting satisfactory completion and approving contractor/subcontractor payment requests
  • Escalate any safety deviations immediately, and seek to anticipate problems plus potential remediation solutions
  • Comply with safety standards as outlined in the company’s Health and Safety Handbook and those prescribed by the job site location and conditions

You’ll be confident working within multi-disciplinary teams in order to deliver successful installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of major capital projects. You’ll provide progress and schedule reports, identifying potential issues and solutions before they arise.

About you

You’ll be a Certified E&I Inspector with a minimum of 5 years of oil and gas industry experience. You’ll have 2+ years of experience working with FPSO projects in an E&I Inspection capacity.

You must have:-

  • Up-to-date knowledge of Electrical and Instrumentation Codes and Standards
  • Reasonable knowledge of various vendor E&I software systems and packages
  • Wide knowledge of current International and National Standards and Procedures
  • Be able to use Microsoft Office Suite and other similar applications to document and record inspections
  • Be able to quickly acquire knowledge of the organizational structure, teams, policies and safety procedures

There’s offshore travel involved, as much of the work is done at project sites. You’ll be conducting inspections at high elevations and in confined spaces. You’ll be leading site meetings with personnel, and can communicate effectively across teams and functions.
