About this role

  • Assist the Construction Management Team in the day-to-day management of temporary facilities maintenance, including roads, trailer complexes, washroom facilities, lighting, temporary power.
  • Prioritize and direct the day-to-day activities of General Site Services contractors.
  • Understand and implement all Responsible Care™ procedures and plans for site work. Ensure that all procedures and plans are strictly observed by General Site Services contractors.
  • Establish and manage budgets for various works associated with site maintenance. Validate and authorize daily or weekly billings from General Site Services contractors.
  • Schedule all works with consideration to specific needs of the various construction teams/areas. Monitor and report progress and schedule to the Construction Superintendent as required.
  • Manage interfaces between site maintenance activities and concurrent construction activities at the work site.
  • Provide recommendations to the Construction Superintendent and Project Manager for overall maintenance of the work site.
  • Perform frequent inspections of the work site and identify proactive measures for improvement of safety, traffic flow, site drainage, dust control and snow removal. This will require walking/standing for long periods of time.

About you

  • A strong understanding of construction safety, and a demonstrated ability to lead by example.
  • A minimum of ten years of experience in construction, in a supervisory role.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of civil construction, including road-building and drainage
  • Self-motivated, able to work with limited direction/oversight
  • Administrative abilities, including communication by email, and use of software to track hours, budgets, etc.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
