About this role

There’s a wide array of tasks in construction commissioning for a petrochemicals plant. You’ll be guiding the team on pre-construction, forecasting the financial budget and resources that will be needed. You’ll be creating and managing the project documentation record, keeping track of all changes, and looking for ways to constantly improve processes.

Then there’ll be initial site inspections checking preparation and materials. And through the build, you will be available at the project site to inspect electrical systems, structural integrity and ensure quality control, ensuring all work is done to the appropriate safety codes and company standards.

You’ll use your financial acumen to maintain oversight and understanding of all expenditure, managing budget and costs for subcontractors and vendors. There’s an essential communication function here too, keeping the Project Team informed of progress, and any potential for overspend.

About you

In this role your subject matter expertise in ethane cracking and polyethylene production will be required throughout to guide and inform the Project Team. You will make recommendations on chemical, power and steam generation processes, as well as water treatment. Your experience on previous projects will be invaluable, and you will inspire a culture that has a strong safety focus.

You have the authority that comes with detailed knowledge; you are a decision-maker, and demonstrate sound judgement when troubleshooting problems. You are also collaborative, comfortable liaising at all levels of seniority within and beyond the team, as well as with workers on site. You use what you learn to understand issues and identify improvements that can be rolled out company-wide.

You must have:

  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, Electrical or General Engineering
  • 10+ years of experience on downstream petrochemical plant construction

This is a great opportunity to contribute to the success of a world-scale petrochemicals project. Put your expertise to better use and apply today. Brunel can get you to the next level.
