Civil Engineer

Our client, a multinational midstream client, is seeking a Civil Engineer to join their Project Civil Team and support their mega project. This a 6-month contract with long-term potential.

The Project Civil Team is responsible as the owners representative for civil design of the project (Outside Battery Limits/OSBL scope). The team works closely with design centers in the project around the globe. The Civil /Structural Engineer will support the oversight of civil/structural engineering design during the detailed design phase, and preparation for field implementation. Additional support to field execution and on site QAQC may be provided on as required basis. The Civil/Structural engineer shall support the Lead Civil Engineer to manage the interface with contractor’s design teams and project engineers including Operational, Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Rotating & PACO.

Main activities will be focused on non-process buildings, marine facilities (material offloading and export terminal) and plant infrastructure (roads, drainage and site preparation). Design of steel / concrete structures will be included in the tasks.

About this role

Responsibilities

  • Promote HSE performance and Design for Safe Construction within the Project Organization and serve as a role model for safety in design and construction
  • Review contractor design deliverables for allocated scope areas and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian and International codes and project design standards.
  • Participation in technical meetings with EPC contractor and subcontractors.
  • Address Technical Queries, Deviation Requests & site queries
  • Support field engineering (ITP, QAQC) to ensure design is implemented according to contract specifications.
  • Ensure implementation and gathering of lessons learned on civil design issues.

About you

Requirements

  • University Degree (BSc or MSc) in Civil Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering registration with APEGBC / APEGA.
  • 5-10 years of relevant design experience.
  • Experience working in large oil & gas projects.
  • Efficient interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working on mega projects of $500M and above
