Due to continued growth in Australia, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to grow our Offshore Construction capability. This role is based in Perth and will primarily focus on building new business opportunities within the offshore construction sector and provide operational leadership for offshore crewing personnel.

About this role

The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid background in Offshore Construction or Project Management delivery. This role would work in conjunction with the Offshore General Manager to grow the offshore business, assisting with local and global tenders.

Brunel has a strong and diverse client list in the offshore construction sector and we are looking for the successful candidate to not only work on opportunities with the existing client base but to develop new clients and grow revenue.

  • Promote and develop Offshore construction manning business for Brunel;
  • Promotion and marketing of Brunel services with focus on Offshore business;
  • Maintain overview of key market and industry developments in region;
  • Develop potential customers and discuss business opportunities;
  • Provide client interface for the life cycle of the operations and after sales contact / liaison;
  • Keep updated and participate in business related conferences, exhibitions and network sessions;
  • Keeps close contact with industrial parties;
  • Collaborate with Brunel's country teams on offshore business opportunities;
  • Provide leadership for offshore crewing and inter-related personnel;
  • Travel within South East Asia in order to meet potential clients.

About you

  • Degree qualified in Business/Commerce/HR Industrial Relations or relevant Construction/Project Management experience;
  • Proven track record in successful delivery of construction projects in the offshore sector;
  • Experience with overseas manning solutions (visas/working rights);
  • Demonstrated experience in dealing with construction/marine unions;
  • Development of Technical, commercial and legal documents in support of tenders and contracts;
  • Exposure to technical and operational requirements of facilities/ rigs/vessels;
  • Exposure to vessel owners, tier one subcontractors and oil major and their requirements including operations and HSSEQ;
  • Well developed customer liaison and negotiation skills;
  • Relevant knowledge of offshore market rates and qualification requirements;
  • Understanding of Flag, MLC 2006 and practical manning requirements.
