Based just outside Midland, TX, you will be providing technical support to two gas processing plants. You’ll need a clean driving license to drive the company vehicle between plants, be comfortable working in diverse groups and familiar with using modeling facilities for process simulations.

This is an open role for an experienced asset management engineer on a 6-month initial contract, with the potential to extend (or hire on a permanent basis).

About this role

As the Asset Management Engineer in this role you will be providing technical support to two gas processing plants.

Your focus will be on working with the operators at your assigned facilities to increase overall performance. You’ll be monitoring the performance of the plant and compressor stations assigned to you. Being able to recognize and implement improvements are a priority in this position.

Your previous experience in Natural Gas & NGL conditioning, treating, processing and compression will be applied in this environment.

You will be building and maintaining various process simulations for your plant and compressor stations. You will using modeling facilities (Promax, Hysys, VMG or other similar packages) to handle the modeling, scope, design, cost estimates, bidding, installation and management of small projects at your plants and associated compressor stations.

You’ll be troubleshooting any process problems that arise in the systems at your plant and compressor stations. You‘ll be providing technical support for the Process Safety Management function, working with colleagues in small teams.

You will be working with other Engineers on their projects as necessary and helping them troubleshoot their systems too.

You’ll also participate in any incident investigations required, attend meetings, take training and occasionally provide input for commercial support.

About you

Good people skills are a key requirement for this position – being able to lead and inspire, able to grasp technical issues quickly for problem solving, able to gather insight from others and analyze problems.

Required for this role:

  • Bachelor's in Engineering preferably Chemical and/or Mechanical Engineering
  • An Advanced degree in Engineering preferred
  • 5-10 years' of experience in Natural Gas & NGL conditioning, treating, processing and compression
  • Must be familiar with modeling facilities, using Promax, VMG, Hysys etc.
