About this role

You’ll be working with a large and well-established Oil and Gas company, on an initial 12-month contract (start date: October 2019). You’ll be fulltime (40 hours per week) in a bright modern office located in Houston’s Energy Corridor.

Your day-to-day focus will be on the parts and specification catalog for various construction work projects. In your first week, you’ll familiarize yourself with the projects you’ll have responsibility for. As an experienced Plant 3D Administrator, you’ll be looking to optimize the application set up while maintaining (and improving) data integrity.

There’s a strong theme of collaboration in this role. You’ll be reaching out to all the members of the team to introduce and establish yourself. Your expertise and confidence will support a high-performance culture, through your attention to details and your drive to get tasks completed.

As well as setting high standards for yourself, you will be supporting other designers in the use of Plant 3D in both Houston and at a remote location. Proven successful team experience is highly desirable.


  • Maintaining and updating P&IDs and 3D models for construction work packages
  • Interacting directly with users/discipline leads on project designs and needs
  • Understanding and applying procedures/specifications for projects, and to meet company standards
  • Soliciting and recording document requirements and needs on the project
  • Optimizing and supporting designers in use of AutoCAD Plant 3D
  • Troubleshooting and providing solutions to technical issues related to 2D/3D tools

About you


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar
  • 5+ years of experience in a Plant 3D Administrative role, preferably in Upstream Oil and Gas
  • Experience with large-scale projects

You are analytical and have great problem-solving skills. You’re able to manage multiple incoming requests and prioritize your focus. You’ll influence and mentor an established team, providing expertise and insight through your strong communication and influencing skills.
