About this role

  • Review process design basis for the Smelter areas;
  • Review process calculations which will include mass and energy balances;
  • Review process flow diagrams;
  • Review major equipment sizing;
  • Review Piping and Instrumentation Drawings;
  • Review equipment data sheets;
  • Review vendor technical data;
  • Participate in design review meetings;
  • Participate in HAZID and HAZOP studies;
  • Develop mass and energy balance models to check the design and evaluate various scenarios;
  • Produce technical reports as requested.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering or related Engineering discipline and five (5) years discipline related engineering experience;
  • Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of Chemical or Metallurgical engineering;
  • Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions;
  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written, including the ability to actively listen and to adapt behavior and communication style based upon the audience;
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions;
  • Skill in following safety practices, and recognizing, controlling and/or eliminating hazards Ability to build trust and credibility with employees/peers and establish common goals and expectations;
  • Strong analytical skills.
