About this role

As Reliability Manager, you will be part of a team managing the availability of strong, effective, robust reliability processes and systems. You’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with reliability processes and delivering robust engineering standards.
You’ll need at least 10 years of experience for this range of responsibilities.

You’ll be managing Plant Risk & Reliability, leading the risk and reliability program and planned/preventative maintenance program, and delivering root cause failure analysis/plant troubleshooting for the site. You’ll have a major focus on safety, modelling behavioral safety and inspiring a safety-driven culture for the team. You’ll be the strategic influencer for operational teams, networking amongst plant and reliability personal to ensure everyone understands what safety behaviors look like, and why they are so important to business.

Other duties will include:

  • Ensuring compliance with internal HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations
  • Implementing safety behavioral initiatives and ensuring participation at every level of responsibility
  • Reducing the risk profile, by active ownership of the reliability risk management system and the provision of specialist technical support
  • Strategic mapping of critical reliability processes and building a structure of ownership of these critical reliability processes at all levels throughout the company
  • Ensuring strong, effective, robust engineering standards, building a structure of ownership of these engineering standards at all levels throughout the company
  • Budgeting and tracking spend and effectiveness

About you

You'll have leadership characteristics such as an inspiring attitude, persuasive demeanor, and able to participate as a team player.

Education & Experience

  • 4-year Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering of a petrochemical manufacturing plant, power generation or similar heavy industry environment.

Must haves:

  • Leadership experience – at least 5 years of experience leading a reliability team and/or managing a manufacturing facility
  • Technical competence of one or more of the following: pressure equipment, rotating equipment, and Instrument/Electrical systems
  • Knowledge of static plant equipment and good knowledge of materials, failure mechanisms, fabrication and repair processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems and Quality Management Systems, experience in risk identification, analysis, and mitigation strategies
  • Familiarity with Turnaround Management Systems using processes that optimize reliability (reducing failure rates, increasing uptime, etc.) and using the statistical analysis of failure data to support your initiatives (e.g. uptime, Weibull analysis, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of RBM (Risk-based Maintenance) and RCM (reliability-centered maintenance) maintenance strategy development
  • Competency in the various methods of Root Cause Failure Analysis and incident investigations
