Brunel have partnered with one of Australia leading Iron Ore producer to assist with the Recruitment for a Metallurgist / Chemist to join our successful and highly professional site based Processing Support Team. This role will be offered on an 8:6 rotation, 12 hours/day from Perth to site. This role will initially be offered as a 6 month contract, with the view to take this person staff.

About this role

  • Provision of technical input to improve the metallurgical performance of the processing plant;
  • Developing metallurgical test work programs to diagnose process issues and identify areas for improvement;
  • Observing equipment performance and process control loops, whilst initiating corrective actions when performance falls outside of specifications;
  • Support, mentor and lead a small team of Metallurgists and Technicians;
  • Implementing process improvement ideas and delivering metallurgical projects, in order to meet budget and forecast deliverables
  • Performing metallurgical reconciliations reporting on process actuals in comparison to budget and forecast values.
  • Manage and develop spreadsheet for metallurgical accounting.

About you

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering with considerable mineral processing experience;
  • Proven experience in a similar role;
  • A proficient level of computer skills and knowledge in MS Office and ideally SAP;
  • Ability to coach, mentor and support a small team;
  • Excellent communication skills, in particular in dealing with stakeholders; and
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.
