This is a permanent position located in Simsbury, Connecticut. You will be responsible to be the Key User in the payroll process regarding the input and support for Kronos and SAP data entry and troubleshooting.   • Act as the Key User in the payroll process regarding the weekly input of payroll into SAP, SAP data entry and troubleshooting.
  • Represent the company in the Human Resources area when dealing with all employees, outside agencies, organizations, and other customers.
  • Establish trust and respect between our company’s Human Resource functions and all its customers.
  • Assist in necessary employee and supervisory training programs.
  • Ensure and conduct proper training and orientation to each newly hired employee.
  • Work with employees regarding different leaves including FMLA, STD, LTD, and complete proper paperwork.
  • Providing recommendations to the Human Resource Manager on training programs, trouble areas, and many other opportunities.
  • Ensuring the accurate information reflects in payroll database, verifying, and providing inputs regarding data and pay changes.
  • Provide input on content and course creation to computer-based Learning Management Software including, record keeping, creation, troubleshooting, and problem solving.
  • Make recommendations to HR Manager on approach and activities on employee involvement.
  • Cultural and Business transformation in a changing economy

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Management or technical field preferred;
  • PHR Certification desired;
  • Strong background in Payroll;
  • 3 (or more) years of business experience in the HR function;
  • Experience working in a Manufacturing environment;
  • Explosives, Mining or Construction Industry experience helpful but not required;
  • Knowledge of Labor and Employment regulations;
  • Must satisfy the requirements for a "Responsible Person" as defined by the Bureau of Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives;
  • Strong Problem-Solving skills;
  • Ability to communicate with others effectively in both written and verbal manner;
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Software and Adult Learning principals;
  • Proficient in all Microsoft suite of functions;
  • Ability to maintain confidential information;
  • Knowledge of FMLA and ADA laws as governed by the Federal Government.
