About this role

  • Serve as a technical specialist and perform critical review of geotechnical aspects of crushed leach pads, tailings dams, water dams, levees and infrastructure foundation/civil design investigations and designs;
  • Stay abreast of the state of the practice in geotechnical engineering to fulfill this role;
  • Manage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion or modifications;
  • Provide guidance to managers and engineers on applicable programs, practices, and regulations;
  • Interpret geotechnical theory and practice and provide recommendations to Management to aid in decision-making;
  • Act as a company resource and mentor in the practice of geotechnical engineering;
  • Proactively identify and champion new technologies and management programs that will optimize operational operations and improve safety;
  • Ensure optimization of on-going and proposed dams, crushed leach pads and plan foundation structures through technology transfer and benchmarking.

About you

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum, with courses in soil mechanics and foundation engineering and fifteen (15) years of experience in applicable field of expertise, including lead or supervisory experience, OR;
  • Master’s Degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited curriculum, with courses in soil mechanics and foundation engineering and ten (10) years of experience in applicable field of expertise, including lead or supervisory experience;
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally;
  • Ability and willingness to travel at least 6 weeks for every quarter.
