About this role

This is a sales role with a difference. You have a practical background in underground or surface mining, strong practical knowledge from your hands-on experience in a range of mining applications. Your focus is to demonstrate and persuade all audiences that these Electronic Initiation Systems (EIS) provide maximum control, maximum effectiveness and are the safest option of electronic delay detonators.

In this role you will be part of team that manages the entire process, from first demonstrations, to initial trials and test blasting, through to successful and sustainable conversions to Electronic Initiation Systems at a customer site. You’ll start with persuading and converting current company customers, demonstrating the benefits at the start and training end users of EIS systems (ensuring adherence to the strictest safety regulations and procedures at all times).

Your experience with electronic delay detonators means you can help customers choose the best EIS solution and support conversion to EIS methodologies. You’ll support your customers at every step, identifying and resolving specific technical difficulties, tracking faults and under performance of the system and recording any issues into the company system for improvement. You’ll provide comments to support a process of continuous design improvement. Your recorded feedback will go to the control equipment and detonator product designers and developers. Your technical understanding as a subject matter expert, combined with your strong communication skills (written and verbal) makes you a great trainer for customers and internal teams.

Duties:

Communicate the value proposition of Electronic Initiation Systems (EIS) to end users, demonstrating the value of these products over existing electronic delay detonator systems
Ensure compliance with all HSE performance standards and regulations
Support continuous improvement through effective feedback to product designers and developers
Train and certify trainers and end users of EIS systems for appropriate and safe use of all products

You’ll be comfortable with significant travel (>60%) that may require occasional weekends away. You’ll set your own schedule in order to meet customer needs in your territory.

About you

You’ll need:

4 years of practical experience in both surface and underground mining, and working knowledge of electronics or electrical engineering fundamentals – a strong technical aptitude

Knowledge and experience in a wide range of mining applications is essential (hands-on knowledge and capability).

An explosives or blasting engineering qualification is highly desirable, e.g. Open Pit training or Explosives engineering course

Join a company that prides itself on a culture that values, respects and rewards its people. You’ll be part of a team that promotes safe behavior's, believes in training, and rewards you when you succeed.
