About this role

In this permanent Electrical Engineer role, there's a broad range of tasks to cover. Your primary focus will be to continually improve plant reliability and performance, using your experience and sound judgment to identify improvements implement solutions in collaboration with others.

You will have a key role as part of the team driving the engineering, cost estimating, planning, executing, and managing through completion and start-up.

Other duties:

  • Ensuring compliance with appropriate HSEQ performance standards as well as current applicable national and state requirements to drive safety at all manufacturing facilities
  • Verify training of maintenance team and contractors and audit against the standards during the planning and execution of work at the work site
  • Assistance in preparation of Front End Loading (FEL) phase engineering project proposals including cost estimates and Capital Expenditure Proposal (CEP) development
  • Develop sourcing specifications and work closely with purchasing personnel to secure high-value products and services
  • Responsible for assisting in planning, scheduling cost estimating, conducting, and coordinating the technical aspects of projects.

About you

Education & Experience

  • BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 4-10+ years of experience in maintenance and engineering, of a petrochemical manufacturing plant, power generation or similar heavy industry environment

You'll know your codes - National Electric Code (NEC); DCS and PLC systems (Delta V experience a plus), and your industrial electrical systems including power. You'll have knowledge of SIS design principles, and have an awareness of project management functions and protocols.

Specific experience required:

  • Plant equipment and documentation
  • Project scope, design, estimation, and scheduling
    Project planning, execution, and team leadership
  • Project commissioning, start-up, and checkout
  • Project documentation
    Design, specification, and implementation of SIS systems
  • Design, specification, and implementation of MCC and power distribution systems
  • Understanding of RBM (risk-based maintenance) and RCM (reliability-centered maintenance) maintenance strategy development
  • Competent in the various methods of Root Cause Failure Analysis

You'll also need a positive attitude and a friendly demeanor. You'll be working as part of a team and you'll be a leader through example, always demonstrating and modelling safe behaviors.
