About this role

  • Development of contract management plan for major site contracts like Heavy mine equipment, power system, explosives etc;
  • List down all outstanding dispute issues with these contracts and note contract non-compliance on performance side;
  • Monitor spend analysis and supplier overall performance through KPI measurement, preventative expedition, vendor evaluation and inspections to assess capabilities resulting in timely delivery of services/ goods;
  • Participate with CPO in negotiating the commercial cost mitigation efforts for the contracts. Refine scope with the Operations;
  • Form warranty register for all potential claims. work closely with the site user departments for explanation and supporting documentation of the warranty/non-conformity/claim cases
  • Co-ordinate between departments for parts consumption levels of different parts for consignment inventory. Lead sealift planning for the above contracts
  • Work with the other members of the management team to confirm the contract strategy and their roles in management of the service contracts
  • Development of potential alternatives and back up strategies and new contractors;
  • Development of relevant procedures for Contract administration, contract change management and close out;
  • For new contracts/renewals, Responsibility spanning Prequalification of tenderers, tender, award and administration;
  • Interfacing with project insurance program requirements relevant to contract risks;
  • Set up and implement strict contract change procedure;
  • Contract claim management and lead dispute resolution arising from contracts;
  • Ensure proper recording of contracts, all change orders and service receipts in Purchasing system (like SAP);
  • Interface with the other members of Management team for timely verification of Contractor’s progress billing and invoices;
  • Liaison with Cost controls for budget and schedule compliance of the contracts;
  • Ensure proper and complete documentation for working and audit purposes;
  • Periodic reporting including Contractor review to Management;
  • Liaison as may be required with legal counsel;
  • Comply with the regulator and permitting requirements relevant to Contracting;
  • Work on Supplier Relationship Management methodologies to fully comply with SAP functionalities and managing key supplier relationships across BIM;
  • Conduct periodic and annual contractor audits and conduct annual contractor performance evaluations;
  • Source suitable bidders, compile bidding lists and pre-qualify the vendors, ensure most competitive bids are received;
  • Prepare comparative statements against the received bids and awarded.

About you

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • 5 - 8 years of experience in industrial purchase and expediting of goods and contract administration, mining experiencing will be preferred;
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, SAP knowledge would be considered as an asset;
  • Formal Training preferred in procurement & contract management.
  • Degree in Legal / Engineering / Commerce / Purchasing / Supply Chain management.
  • SCMP, CPP or equivalent preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel & MS Word;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, planning and management skills;
  • Detailed and highly organized;
  • Ability to learn and develop quickly through personal initiative;
  • Ability to multitask;
  • Works well in a face paced environment; Customer service oriented;
  • Ability to travel regularly.
