Advisor, Reliability

Are you an experienced Engineer with Advisory experience in preventative, predictive and reliability maintenance programs in an environment where a mature reliability and maintenance program is in place? In this role you will be responsible for the overall development and implementation of strategies and tactics for our Clients Mine Assets. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering Services, this role is a great opportunity for a professional to lead a team of reliability professionals and be a key contributor to the asset management team’s strategic direction. The incumbent will provide a link to our client’s growth and Innovation group. They will implement core and common asset management standards that produce best practice behaviors across the business. This will be articulated through presentations, reporting and problem solving sessions with Operations and Maintenance staff.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a culture of safety in the workplace;
  • Mentor and develop reliability Engineers in Training;
    • Cultivate the reliability culture on site through informal communication and formal problem solving sessions such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA);
    • Improve the mobile equipment fleet availability;
    • Optimize the process for gathering and reporting equipment data;
    • Coordinate, communicate and manage the defect elimination program;
    • Provide a link to our clients G&I group;
    • Develop an overarching asset management strategy that aligns to our clients Life of Mine strategy;
    • Maintain the CMMS Asset Management Systems;
    • Mapping of management processes from life cycle planning and budgeting through to work management and reliability engineering;
    • Implementation of asset management standards that produce best practice behaviors across the business;
    • Adopt and promote a whole of life approach to asset selection and focusing on reliability, availability, maintainability, and operability;
    • Ensure assets are operated within their design envelope to preserve reliability;
    • Optimize the work management process to provide the foundation for planning, scheduling, budgeting and measuring key performance metrics;
    • Implementation of our clients Asset Management Standard including equipment criticality, FMEA and thresholds for MOC and RCFA requirements and participation;
    • Develop reports and trends on Asset integrity, MTBF, and aid in FMEA;
    • Implementation of processes to ensure the appropriate asset management tactics are being executed and improved upon;
    • Optimization of the spare parts inventory while maximizing equipment availability;
    • Monitor and report asset management key performance indicators;
    • Coordinate routine internal and external asset management audits to ensure compliance with the requirements of our client.
    • Requirements

      • A Bachelor of Engineering degree or equivalent technical experience;
      • 10 years of experience with preventative, predictive and reliability maintenance programs in an environment where a mature reliability and maintenance program is in place;
      • 5 years of experience in the mining, energy or manufacturing industries which includes experience with both fixed and mobile equipment in an industrial environment;
      • Experience coaching Engineers in Training, reliability professionals and skilled trades;
      • A recognized maintenance and reliability certification such as MMP or CMRP is preferred;
      • Proficient with CMMS Systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint;
      • Proven experience leading change and successfully implementing reliability and maintenance strategies;
      • Ability to harness the strengths and knowledge of a diverse team to create sustainable solutions;
      • Programs in an environment where a mature reliability and maintenance program is in place;
      • Highly organized and ability to work in high stress situations and resolve issues;
      • Ability to take initiative and work independently and as part of a team;
      • Ability to influence and obtain buy-in from diverse stakeholders;
      • A recognized maintenance and reliability certification such as MMP or CMRP is preferred.
