We’re hiring an Export Sales Manager for our client, a Pharmaceutical company in Edmonton that develops health products and Rx drugs from botanicals, to join their team. They have launched three natural health products in Canada and are actively pursuing export countries like US, China, Japan, Korea, India and Middle East to partner with strategic distributors to market their products.

About this role

Responsibilities

  • Research potential markets, conduct personal selling visits
  • Organize sales promotions, appoint agents and distributors and negotiate sales contracts
  • Managing the sale of products or services to customers in other countries
  • Manage the supply chain from cradle to grave (PO, ordering with CRO or COMs to manufacture the goods and ship to customers)
  • Develop knowledge of the cultural, business and political background of the countries you are responsible for and combine with market research to effectively sell in these countries
  • Seek new opportunities to sell to different international markets
  • To build up and maintain good relationships with customers, agents and distributors.
  • International travel by request and client needs
  • Consultation with Product Managers and suppliers; ability to decide whether the product can be modified for the customer or whether special discounts can be offered.
  • Redesign labeling for products based on the regulatory landscape of the market
  • Comply with legal and ethical restrictions on international trading
  • Provide quotes; complete a tender document and agree on a final contract for successful bids.
  • Monitor the processing of orders and verify distribution and scheduling.
  • Deal with any complaints or queries that occur.
  • Other duties involve producing marketing plans, budgets and sales reports for discussion by company management.
  • Organize sales briefings and conferences, and visit international trade fairs.

About you

Requirements

  • University degree in Science, Arts, Business or Finance
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiating, written and verbal communication skills
  • Works well with other team members
  • Knowledge of international contract terms, foreign currencies, tariffs and trading regulations
  • Foreign language skills
  • Works independently
  • Strong ability to work and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of economics, business and accounting
  • Delegating and leadership skills
  • Experience managing budgets and analyzing sales figures
