Senior Service Engineer


About this role:

If you have at least 5+ years of experience in power generation or turbo machinery as a superintendent of Electrical and Automation Controls then take a look at this.

Our client is a leader in sustainable marine and energy markets with over 19,000 employees worldwide. Offices are in Houston, TX but this role can be 100% remote, with up to 80% travel from any location with access to a major airport (occasional international travel may be required).

You'll be experienced in costs and cost effectiveness, able to analyze and write reports that communicate highly technical information to internal and external experts . You'll be organized and able to chedule yourself and junior personnel in the field. You'll be results-driven with excellent communication skills, and a competent presenter. You'll make strong customer relationships based on your product and system knowledge. You'll be able to develop new products with customers and research & development teams within the company.

In this role you will apply your deep electrical and control knowlede of engine and auxiliary systems. You'll provide services for clients on East and West Coasts, carrying out complex equipment troubleshooting, repairs and commissioning of equipment.

Main Responsibilities: performing Field Service activities according to the work plan, creating Service Work Reports, identifying and proposing improvement needs of products and solutions for relevant internal stakeholders, participating on field tests and customer meetings as a local technical advisor in the electrical and automation aspects, as well as Sales Support.

As well as owning some of the problem solving, you'll act as a supervisor, coach and mentor to junior personnel. The company is growing and needs people who can train the local field service personnel on advanced applications.

What you need to bring:

  • BS Engineering plus 5+ years of experience (preferably in power generation or turbo machinery)
  • Experience in commissioning new power plants as an automation engineer
  • Experience with programmable logic controllers, frequency drives, electrical protection devices, computer systems, ethernet networks, firewalls and OPC-servers

  • Able to work remote/travel up to 80%
  • Bilingual in Spanish is advantageous but not essential
