About this role

As Maintenance Manager at this large facility, you’ll have a broad role that reaches across aspects of HR, engineering, operations, maintenance and project management.

You’ll be working closely with the Operations Manager to support efficient production. You’ll be a team lead for the maintenance crew and plant support employees, focused on maintaining safety standards and efficiency.

You’ll be involved in every aspect of the site, including safety, environmental impacts, administration, finance and some contractual matters.

As the lead for a large maintenance team, you’ll be developing people through training and coaching. Safety is a critical aspect, and you will have responsibility for meeting strict safety and environmental standards, while driving a strong culture of operational discipline for every person in your crew. You will need to ensure every person is aligned with the company’s safety and compliance goals.

As Maintenance Manager you will be identifying procedures that will improve efficiencies (and deliver increased revenues). You’ll implement Best Practice procedures – some from your previous experience and others that you can see in operations. You will support the Operations Manager through your own suggestions, and by encouraging a culture of constant improvement from those around you.

Day-to-day, your focus will be on contributing to lean, efficient production throughout the facility. You’ll strive for operational excellence and engage with customers and suppliers to ensure there is good communication. In practical terms, you will be ensuring a high level of equipment reliability and excellent maintenance practices. You will take time to understand the details of every process along the production line, in order to meet requirements for quality, service and safety.

About you

  • At least 5 years of Maintenance Management experience (including some administration and operation experience), preferably at similar facilities
  • Knowledge of Anaerobic Digestion processes, Wastewater Treatment, Industrial Processes, Solid Waste and/or Power Production is highly desirable

Your Skills:

  • Knowledgable on all aspects of site maintenance, able to handle situations as they arise, looking ahead proactively, particularly for issues regarding safety
  • Team-oriented, with excellent communication and good customer service skills
