About this role:

Brunel Australasia have partnered with one of Australia’s most sought after employers, to recruit and place a suitable qualified Control System Engineer. Our Client is a Global Oil & Gas Operator with operations in over 35 countries.

  • Hours: 8 Hours per Day;
  • Rate: Negotiable;
  • Contract Duration: Up to 2 years (24 Months);
  • Perth Based (Monday to Friday);

Role Purpose:

The Control System Engineer (CSE) will be working in the Process Control Team reporting to the Process Control Lead, providing technical assurance to the team. This is through the construction, verification and implementation of control schemes as produced by the Process Control Team, with further input from the CSE. The CSE enables the Production Support Team to assist the day-to-day operations of the facility efficiently and safely by providing control improvements using process control tools, including base-layer controls, complex controls, procedural automation and Instrumented Protective Function (IPF) systems.

  • DCS configuration;
  • Troubleshooting existing configuration and logic within the control system;
  • Proactive Technical Monitoring of the Base Layer Controls assuring reliable and optimized operation;
  • Complex loop operation and documentation;
  • Continuous and batch sequence design and creation;
  • Coding development of Process Control Tools;
  • Carrying out investigations, studies and design of DCS code;
  • Travel to site to commission new control designs.

What you need to bring:

  • 5+ years of experience of Control Systems Engineering;
  • Must have experience with one of the following Control Systems: Emerson DeltaV Honeywell Experion, Yokogawa Centum, Rockwell PlantPax, Foxboro DCS, Allen Bradley;
  • Experience with continuous or batch processing;
  • Experience with Operator Training Simulators () Either: Honeywell UniSim, Aspen HYSYS or Aveva DynSim;
  • Experience in Oil and Gas or Chemical processing industry;
  • Experienced in the preparation of design documentation including drawings, specifications, scopes of work;
  • Ability to code in one of: Python VBA or C++.
