About this role


  • Design, implement and manage compensation programs and tools that support attraction, retention and motivation of a high quality and high performing workforce;
  • Monitor the effectiveness of existing compensation policies and guidelines, ensuring that they are competitive, cost effective, aligned with and supportive of the business strategy;
  • Perform regular internal reviews and external studies to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness of the company compensation practices through strategic monitoring of business conditions, legal requirements, economic environment and competitive practices within the health care and agriculture industries;
  • Review and evaluate compensation programs to ensure they are in compliance with pay equity, wage and hour laws, minimum wage, and other provincial and federal compensation regulations;
  • Serves as the compensation lead or subject matter expert on projects or initiatives any required partnership with HR business partners, business leaders, Finance and other areas as required to ensure successful outcomes of the project or initiative;
  • Lead the annual merit and bonus planning cycle;
  • Participate in HR Business Partner/Management discussions regarding initiatives/changes in organization structures and provide corresponding compensation and job evaluation support;
  • Utilize data and analysis to deliver innovative solutions to HR Business Partners and/or leaders;
  • Provide senior level analytical expertise for compensation programs;
  • Act as a project manager for medium to large compensation-related projects or work streams;
  • Handle complex inquiries from HR colleagues.

About you


  • University degree in a relevant field;
  • 6-10 years of deep professional background in Human Resources;
  • Completion or progress toward CCP or CHRP designation;
  • Strong knowledge of compensation practices, theories, and processes;
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and financial modeling skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy;
  • Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and consulting skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and/or documentation;
  • Ability to take initiative and resolve complex situations;
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and spreadsheet analysis.
