About this role: Superintendent - Fixed Plant Maintenance

Brunel Papua New Guinea are seeking a Superintendent with background in Fixed Plant Maintenance. This is a FIFO role based at a gold mine in PNG. The role will be responsible for maintaining safe and reliability fixed plant processing equipment and infrastructure in the area of operations process section, by the application and monitoring of maintenance systems. This is a full-time opportunity with FIFO benefits and offering competitive salary – 28 days on/14 days off roster with 12-hour days. Commencement date is as soon as possible.

Implement and support site-wide and corporate systems to meet agreed service delivery levels of fixed plant installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance and repair in the following areas:

  • Gyratory Crusher
  • SAG Mills
  • Cyclones
  • Ball Mills
  • Cone Crushers
  • Lime Plant
  • Wallie Creek/Water Systems.
  • CEP concentrate filter press
  • Paste plant
  • Mobile Cranes and Scaffold Operations

Monitor maintenance systems and performance measures and formulate alternatives and improvements to systems and methods.

Assist the Fixed Plant Manager with implementation of change management initiatives and other business improvement projects.

Develop, implement, and maintain safe work procedures and promote high safety and health awareness. Promote and comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Policy.

Be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the team.

Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures, and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.

Develop continuous improvement targets for the function and drive and measure achievement of these targets.

Ensure the development and maintenance of up-to-date job procedures for all tasks performed within the team.

Ensure effective communication with delegate prior to departure from site.

What you need to bring:

Trade qualifications in Heavy Equipment Fitting or other mechanical trade; and

Post-trade qualifications such as maintenance planning or reliability engineering; or

Recognised tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (desirable)

Knowledge and experience in a processing operation in a developing country, demonstratingcommitment to localisation plans and sensitivity to local customs and practices.
