Introduction
We are seeking experienced Senior Buyers to support a major operatorship transition program within the energy sector. These positions are responsible for purchasing spot equipment, materials, chemicals and services across multiple operational business lines, working within established procurement and controls frameworks to ensure continuity of supply.
These roles suit commercially astute purchasing professionals who are comfortable managing high-volume procurement activity, resolving PO and invoice exceptions, liaising with suppliers, and supporting efficient end-to-end procure-to-pay processes.
What are you going to do
- Process requisitions and convert to purchase orders in the ERP system on a daily basis
- Source and obtain vendor quotations and proposals as required
- Conduct basic negotiations of pricing and standard commercial terms
- Resolve PO, invoice and goods receipt discrepancies to ensure timely payment
- Approve freight or additional charges in alignment with procurement controls
- Support strategic procurement colleagues on major projects and turnaround packages
- Maintain purchase orders (delivery dates, descriptions, notes, etc.) throughout the order lifecycle
- Provide guidance and informal mentoring to junior Buyers where required
Essential skills and knowledgeÂ
- Experienced Buyer with strong P2P / procure-to-pay process knowledge
- Skilled in managing supplier relationships and resolving transactional issues
- Confident communicator capable of liaising across operations, finance and procurement
- Strong attention to detail and controls mindset
- Proficient in SAP or similar ERP procurement systems
- Collaborative working style with ability to manage a steady and consistent workload
