About this role: Orchard Manager

Brunel has partnered with a key Australian organisation with a depth of experience in owning, developing and operating Australian farmland, agriculture infrastructure and other assets. They are currently developing a number of macadamia orchards in the Fitzroy region in QLD and are looking for an experienced Orchard Manager to manage their orchard operations 60kms west of Rockhampton.

The Role

This role will suit someone with a proven understanding of macadamia orchard requirements and will be responsible for :-

  • Maximise yields through systematic planning, optimising crop performance, operational efficiency and completion of tasks.
  • Oversee farm maintenance and operational activities
  • Lead, develop, train and manage employees
  • Contribute to the development and improvements of farming systems, safety and environmental processes
  • Oversee farm maintenance and operational activities

  • Manage maintain and develop records for maintenance, chemical spraying, fertilising, irrigating, payroll and safety

    What you need to bring:

    • Formal training in horticulture or demonstrated macadamia experience essential
    • Certificate in Leadership preferred
    • Experience managing teams including employees, labour hire and contractors
    • Advanced experience and knowledge of land improvement techniques
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Strong organisation and time management skills
    • Safety training will be highly regarded
