  • Achieving maximum production with maximum plant availability through monitoring key DCS parameters and ensuring that the plant is running efficiently while keeping specific energy consumption as per standards;
  • Identify equipment problems early and get it corrected in time to have better plant reliability and availability;
  • Understand the inherent complex nature of the Methanol & Utility process and make sound decisions based on experience, SOPs and special guidelines to have operational continuity and minimum downtime;
  • Ensure all emissions from units are lower than regulations and maintain ISO 14001 standards with proper records;
  • Prepare monthly shift schedule;
  • Assume the responsibilities of Senior Engineer when required;
  • Supervise the shift personnel on duty in Methanol & Utility complex and contract workers as required;
  • Area authority for work permit issuance, control and closure;
  • First level of approval authority for overtime work of shift workers;
  • Decide to continue or shutdown the plant operations in case of plant emergencies in coordination with MEoH Plant Manager;
  • Take decision regards to safety, security, personnel matter and plant equipment during silent hours.

What you need to bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A University degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 years shift leadership/supervisory experience in large scale Methanol / Ammonia plant. Experience shall include supervision and motivation of shift teams, commissioning and start up, SOP preparation, process equipment troubleshooting, work permit system, emergency handling and firefighting, plant performance monitoring and commissioning & start up;
  • Detailed and expert process knowledge of Methanol plant operation;
  • Sound understanding of all relevant plant and equipment.
