About this role: Contracts Engineer

On behalf of our client, a World Leader within the Oil & Gas / Energy sector, Brunel is presently seeking an a high skilled Contracts Engineer with preferable Contracts Engineer experience of large turbomachinery EPFS (Engineering Procurement Fabrication and Supply) contract and novation / free-issue contract arrangement. This will be a 12 month contract based in the Perth CBD.

  • Management of ITT and tender evaluation process
  • Development and implementation of EPC contracts on time
  • Management of EPC contracts including management of changes
  • Lead communications/negotiations with contractors/vendors
  • Manage necessary approval process
  • Achieve cost savings through the contract management process
  • Develop contracting strategies
  • Manage contract tender stage including prequalification, ITT preparation, issue, receipt, opening and assessment of tenders and approval process
  • Negotiate with Contractor on tender qualifications and exceptions during tender evaluation
  • Ensure contracts are monitored and regularly reported to Contracts Manager to identify potential future variations
  • Ensure commercial and contractual correspondence with Contractor is efficiently handled
  • Ensure changes to contract/scope of work are managed in accordance with Company procedures
  • Develop contracting strategies

  • Negotiate with Contractor on tender qualifications and exceptions during tender evaluation

What you need to bring:

  • Project Management Certification or equivalent – is desirable
  • Sound experience of preparation/development/management of EPC Contract including development of Contract Strategy - preferably within the Oil & Gas industry
  • Preferable contract engineering experiences of large turbomachinery EPFS (Engineering Procurement Fabrication and Supply) contract and novation/free-issue contract arrangements
  • In-depth understanding of EPC contracts
  • excellent communication/negotiation skills
