Brunel has partnered with a key Australian organisation with a depth of experience in owning, developing, and operating Australian farmland, agriculture infrastructure and other assets. They are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Farm Manager to support the Farm Manager on a broadacre cropping property in central Queensland. This is a great opportunity to work with a dynamic organisation that are in constant growth phase.

About this role

The Role

This 2IC Farm Manager role will suit someone who has experience in cropping (ideally cotton) and is experienced in managing small teams of staff.

Responsibilities will include: -• Provide farm management cover in the absence of the Farm Manager.
• Establish crops including, bed preparation, fertilising, sowing and cultivation. • Coordinate irrigation implementation and maintenance.
• Manage crops including herbicide and pesticide application.• Oversee the implementation and embedding of the Safe Ag platform.
• Contribute to a positive and productive working environment.

What you need to bring:

• Extensive broadacre cropping experience.• Proven track record of operating machinery.
• Experience supervising and managing small teams• Flexible to work hours which may vary to meet operational demands.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills• A positive, can-do attitude.
