Seeking a Well Engineer to focus on all aspects of the Live Well Workover/eductor development.

Brunel Australasia are currently partnering with one of worlds premier leading natural gas producers, focused on developing Queensland’s world-class onshore gas reserves.

The Well Engineer (Live Well Workover/Eductor) will be the focus for all aspects of the Live WellWorkover/Eductor development through finalizing the concept to preparing a scope of work, evaluating responsesThe successful applicant will work closely alongside the existing engineering team developing the Underbalanced Workover Project and collaborating closely with the engineering team developing an integrated underbalance workover methodology

A critical component of the Well Engineer role will be initial gap analysis betweenpractices, procedures and standards of monitoring and control currently utilized when Live Well Workover/Eductor Systems are used in the Surat basin by other operators and developing a range of controls and systems which will ensure compliance with the clients standards.They will have an in-depth understanding of well barrier management, barrier monitoring and operating procedures utilizing Live Well Workover/Eductor Systems.The role will initially be office-based in Brisbane and be supervised day to day by the Lead Well Engineer CWI.
Workover Project.The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience with Live Well Workover/Eductor systems in the CSG industry and will be responsible for leading the operational planning and assisting with preparation of programs, and then take the lead role in wellsite supervision and management of operations for the Live Well Workover/Eductor scope within the Underbalance Workover operation.

In addition, it would be desirable if the candidate had previous experience in anOCR role in CSG utilizing Live Well Workover/Eductor Systems.

Being an integrated team, the candidate must be flexible and willing to adapt to periods of Brisbane office-based work and may be asked to fill a field-based role as required.


This role demands strong leadership skills and integrity.

The candidate will have demonstrated a natural and unforced leadership style with strong motivation and excellent communication skills at all levels.

Will be expected to draw a balance between command and control (in emergency situations) together with an empowered approach to operational and people management.

They will also require the capability to manage and resolve operational problems and to have a clear grasp of the objectives of the operation from a business perspective.

  • The Well Engineer will have extensive knowledge of CSG operations
  • Demonstrable experience with Live Well Workover/Eductor Systems.
  • Strong coaching skills are a requirement. Snubbing experience is a bonus.
  • Experience with CSG workover operations utilizing Live Well Workover/Eductor Systems
  • Ability to pass Shell Trade Test •
  • Well Interventions IWCF Level 4


  • Brisbane Based role (Opportunity to become a site based role in the future)
  • $1320 per day including super
  • 10 month contract (potential to be extended and become site based role)
