Introduction

We are currently hiring Senior Team Lead Clinical for our client, a global pharmaceutical company and one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. The company is known for its global contribution in areas including pharmaceuticals and consumer healthcare products. Our client offers the broadest range of vaccines in the world, providing protection against a wide array of bacterial and viral diseases.

The Senior Team Lead Clinical (Sr. TL) will have direct line management responsibility for assigned roles (e.g., Team Leaders (TLs), Local Study Mangers (LSMs), Site Partnership Managers (SPMs), Medical Advisors (MDAs)) and for ensuring the performance, training, coaching, mentoring, motivation, and development of individuals under their management. This position will support the planning, coordination, and delivery of study commitments/goals in addition to the strategic alignment of the therapeutic area in their perimeter.

As a key member of CSU leadership team, the Sr. TL will represent CSU cluster head to drive process optimization, coordinate transversal activities and define strategy to implement clinical studies in CA, work with internal (Affiliate) and external stakeholders to develop business and study strategy, represent the company in Pharma associations/ medical conferences in the country and foster digital innovation in CSU.

The Sr. TL can be the delegate of CSU cluster head to represent CSU for interaction with local enabling functions and stakeholders for transversal activities, inc. hub/affiliate leadership councils, legal, finance, procurement, medical and as well as global CSU functions such as Early Planning and Business Strategy Office. They will also be back up of CSU cluster head in CSU regional leadership team, CSU global cluster head team and other country level leadership committees.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of Clinical Development Process: Experience and understanding of clinical trial design, clinical trial monitoring procedures, clinical trial management systems, project management principles, ICH GCP, and local regulations.
  • Medical/Scientific Background-TA/Disease knowledge: Broad scientific and medical terminology knowledge within several therapeutic areas
  • Interpersonal & Relationship Management: Highly aware of self and others. Active mentor for others in the team. Influences, inspires, and encourages people to think in a certain direction without force whilst acknowledging their opinions
  • Knowledge & understanding of geographic area of responsibility (culture, regulations, language)
  • Decision making, planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, and ability to arbitrate in difficult situations
  • People management and resourcing experience with strong leadership, mentorship, coaching, interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills essential. Demonstrated ability to give ongoing developmental feedback and perform performance assessments
  • Risk Management Skills: Ability to anticipate risks and design mitigation plans for risks/issues. Anticipates evolution of our internal & external environment, prepares scenarios, supports decision making, establishes and monitors response plans
  • Project Management Skills: Integrates quality, time, cost, and resources when planning and executing projects. Applies continuous improvement methodology/tools. Strong time management skills and ability to drive achievement of goals
  • Data Analytics & Digital Skills: Excellent analytical skills. Uses the systems to read, analyze, and generate reports regularly. Data driven strategy is a key element in leadership and management tasks
  • Problem Solving: Significant critical decision-making skills. Applies critical thinking to strategize ways of solving a problem. Consistently checks progress and direction by measuring outcomes
  • Business Acumen: Demonstrates solutions-oriented business acumen. Understands how the functions/department of the business work transversally. Can see the big picture to break down silos and analyzes impact on role/operations
  • Change Management: Reinforces the change by supporting others. Handles resistance to change and gains strong commitment. Acts as a change agent by modeling resilience to change

Requirements

Requirements

  • University degree in a scientific /medical field
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience
  • 5+ years of experience in some aspect of clinical trials project management
  • Previous clinical trial experience within Oncology and/or working with vaccines.
  • 3+ years of direct line management experience
  • Proven ability to build Risk Management into different level of clinical trial design.
  • English language proficiency
  • Proficiency in complex trial management
  • Process improvement experience and/or certification (i.e., Lean six sigma or equivalent)
  • Experience in building strategic plans
  • Ability to succinctly summarize and communicate study priorities / risk escalations
  • Project Management Certification (PMP/PMI) is an asset
