About this role: Senior Planning Engineer (Planning & Cost Control)

The candidates shall work within a trouble-shooting team responsible for the following:

  • Resolution of problematic and complex programmatic issues such as:
    • Contractor Baseline reviews and assessments
    • Assessment of major delay and disruption claims
    • Assessment of delays associated to contract suspension and termination
  • Provision of specialist expert planning and delay advice
  • Alternative Dispute Resolution, Dispute Resolution & Litigation

Other duties shall include:

  • Play a key role in initiating and implementing delay and disruption added value working practices
  • Review, updating and monitoring adherence to Company’s existing delay and disruption protocol / procedures
  • Compilation, implementation and monitoring of Training and Development Plans
  • Resolution of major issues resulting from the review and interrogation of Contractor’s monthly progress reports



  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent / relevant to the construction industry.
  • A post-graduate qualification in law or dispute resolution preferred but not essential
  • Membership to a relevant professional body is desired (PMP, etc.)


  • Experience in heavy civils and major building projects
  • An understanding of International Conditions of Contract and law.
  • A comprehensive, well-rounded knowledge and understanding of the SCL and application of the various delay methodologies
  • Good experience of construction technology and on-site activities
  • Highly motivated self-driven with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with good problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to write complex reports in simplistic format
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Computer literate


  • A minimum of 14 years postgraduate experience within the construction industry
  • Worked in the capacity of Senior Planning Manager / Senior Forensic Planner within a Professional Consultancy or Client Organization (Contracting background may also be considered).
  • A proven track record of Planning / Forensic Delay Analysis on major international projects.
  • Preferably, have minimum 3 years’ experience in the gulf region.
