About this role: Risk Manager

  • Promote an understanding of RM practices and conduct related workshops;
  • Assist the risk management director in implementing the adopted ERM framework across the business;
  • Contribute in reviewing the RM approach and practices annually and implement required improvements upon consultation with Senior Management;
  • Develop and manage the intended specialized risk management discipline practice (PRM or BCM accordingly);
  • Facilitate the implementation of the designed risk management processes (PRM, BCM or CRM) according to the assigned risk management discipline;
  • Coordinate and liaise with the Internal Audit team on corporate audit findings and risk identification;
  • Manage and coordinate external and internal assurance activities across the enterprise to ensure efficient and effective scheduling, coverage and workload;
  • Advise on any potential risks to its profitability or existence;
  • Facilitate risk management process as part of the corporate governance structure;
  • Identify/assess risks and opportunities and recommend response plans and controls to better manage/reduce risks;
  • Assist in reporting top business risks to Senior Management and Board of Directors (BOD);
  • Mange Business Continuity activities across the enterprise;
  • Supervise meetings with staff of different departments to identify potential BC scenarios and develop a BCP accordingly that may limit risks;
  • Ensure that the BCP conforms to changing requirements and perform periodic assessment and plan execution testing;
  • Manage the execution of the BCP and report results to management as required;
  • Report to risk management director and concerned stakeholders on risk assessment results and risk management plans and actions;
  • Compliance in accordance with section/Company policies & procedures, Policy of Integrity & Code of Conduct and HSE standards;
  • Manage the development of a corporate and project risk management practice and ensure its alignment with the ERM framework;
  • Identify, evaluate, manage and report key risks at the corporate and project level as part of the ERM scope and reporting structure;
  • Maintain updated corporate risk register and Projects Portfolio level risk register and monitor and effectively communicate changes in key risks to concerned stakeholders and senior management.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Engineering or Business Administration. Master’s Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Engineering, Business Administration or any relevant field. Engineering background is preferred and Master’s degree is of added advantage;
  • A Risk Management professional certification from a recognized certification body or an international institute;
  • Knowledge of ISO 31000 (International Standard for Risk Management), COSO ERM or any other recognized ERM framework is preferred;
  • Knowledge of ISO 22301 (International Standard for Risk Management), NCEMA 7000 (UAE National Standard for Business Continuity);
  • 10+ years’ industrial and/or audit experience out of which 6 years in RM preferably in the oil and gas and/or construction industries;
  • Knowledge and experience in control design and risk mitigation is required;
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis software is of added advantage;
  • Extensive experience in Business Continuity Planning and establishing a business continuity program in similar industries;
  • Strong Knowledge of ISO 22301 (International Standard for Risk Management), NCEMA 7000 (UAE National Standard for Business Continuity);
  • Professional Business Continuity Management Certification (MBCI or CBCI) is preferred;
  • Extensive experience in Corporate and Project Risk Management implementation;
  • Experience in quantitative risk analysis;
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred;
  • Excellent written & spoken communication skills in the English language. Knowledge of Arabic is preferred.
