Introduction

We are seeking a talented and experienced Junior Project Engineer to join our clients dynamic team in Perth. The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in the mining industry. Familiarity with project delivery in an owner’s team and/or EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management) will be highly advantageous. This role involves assisting in the planning, execution, and management of mining engineering projects to ensure successful delivery within scope, time, and budget constraints.

About this role

  • Assist in the detailed planning and execution of mining engineering projects.
  • Support the project management team in coordinating tasks, resources, and schedules.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure adherence to project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including reports, schedules, and budgets.Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met and issues are promptly resolved.
  • Provide technical support and assist in resolving engineering challenges as they arise.Participate in project meetings, providing updates on progress and addressing any concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering within the mining industry.
  • Familiarity with project delivery in an Owner’s team and/or through EPCM.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
