About this role: Project Engineer - Subsea Projects - Perth based - Permanent role

Are you a Project Engineer with experience in subsea projects, manufacturing and/or installation of offshore equipment?

Do you want to grow your career into a Project Management position in a small team where you will develop your hands-on understanding of the lifecycle of a project from inception to fabrication and installation?

The type of projects and equipment you will be working with include platforms, subsea pipelines, FPSOs, jackets, drilling equipment and subsea production equipment, terminals and jetties - as well as some renewables moving forward.

This role is newly created in an expanding business. The team is small and growing slowly and carefully. Tenure is extremely high in the team both locally and internationally – as is retention and hiring is not something taken lightly. This is a permanent position – as most are within the business.

Some major project wins have prompted the need to go to market to attract an experienced Project Engineer to support the workload. There will be training provided on their specific products and solutions.

This role is for someone who can pull work towards themselves and build on existing client relationships and projects. There is a culture of everyone pitching in - you are all working to a common goal and the internal working relationships are friendly and professional.

The role will involve some ad-hoc travel interstate or internationally for short periods of time as and when projects require - so that you can build relationships with both the global team and the clients/customers you are working with.

To apply you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering,
  • PMP or PMI certification or awareness of the principles,
  • Commercial acumen - understanding of the financial impact of engineering scope shifts and how to flag them to your team,
  • Experience in Subsea projects,
  • Experience working with manufacturing and/or fabrication in Oil & Gas is highly advantageous,
  • Minimum 5 years Industry working experience as a Project Engineer,
  • Full Australian Working Rights and are local to Perth.
