About this role: Bid Manager

On behalf of our client, a dynamic Global High Profile Energy Group, Brunel is urgently seeking a skilled Bid Manager to Lead the development and submission of a Request for Tender. This is an immediate requirement for approximately 6 months – open to Perth based or Adelaide candidates.

  • Reporting to the Development and Delivery Services Manager, the Bid Manager manages the holistic portfolio of work required to respond to the client’s needs to secure this “must win” project on behalf of the company.
  • Ensure a winning proposal strategy is developed and implemented to deliver the highest probability of success
  • Engage with the appropriate SMEs within the Company to provide the required tender inputs (Manufacturing, Engineering, Contracts & Procurement, Commercial, Marketing, Legal)
  • Project management of the tender process including establishing and managing a bidding schedule
  • Establish and manage a shared folder structure to progressively populate with tender documentation
  • Establish and manage a review and approvals pathway within Company governance framework to maintain quality and ensure appropriate and approvals are undertaken on time prior to bid submission
  • Ensure all components of the bid ‘hang together’ in a consistent manner, resolve questions and otherwise manage uncertainties to put forward a compelling proposition
  • Coordinate with disciplines to conduct risk assessments and management activities to evaluate all commercial, financial, social, legislative and resource risk associated with the tender
  • Manage the query resolution process with the client
  • Coordinate with Contracts and Procurement to engage with suppliers and subcontractors in line with tender timeframes
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the customer if required
  • Participate in bid handover to the Project Manager and Regional Lead


  • Candidates must be able to bring a flexible mindset, challenge traditional thinking and be very organised in their approach to the management of RFT activities
  • Solution and outcome driven and use a problem-solving mindset to generate solutions and paths forward when challenges arise
  • Bid management experience on complex tenders above 200M in value in the engineering/construction/manufacturing sector
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (eg Commerce, Engineering, Marketing)Confident verbal and written communication skills to produce tender materials
  • Engage with a wide scope of people at all levels throughout the organisation and chair large workshops
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently to organise and prioritise demands, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously, set and meet deadlines and follow-through within a fast-paced environment with multiple and completing demands
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering successful and profitable tenders
