About this role: Sr Drilling Engineer - CO2 Team
On behalf of our client, a leading integrated energy company, we are seeking for a highly skilled Senior Drilling Engineer to join our Onshore Wells Engineering Team as part of the CO2 Team.
Reporting to the Onshore Wells Team Lead, you will be responsible for detailed well engineering for water production, water disposal, and CO2 sequestration wells. Your expertise will contribute to their pressure management and CO2 injection efforts while ensuring compliance with rig capabilities, wellbore stability, and life of well servicing requirements.
- Develop well designs for pressure management wells (water producers and injectors) and CO2 injection wells, in collaboration with the Subsurface and Facilities Teams.
- Perform casing design and well pad layout.
- Conduct directional planning and T&D (drilling and completions).
- Analyze hydraulics, time, and cost to optimize well operations.
- Conduct risk analysis and implement mitigation measures.
- Generate execution programs and procedures in coordination with the Rig Contractor and Business Partners.
- Monitor operations performance and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
- Prepare comprehensive look-back and end of well documentation.
- May be assigned to support subsea exploration well scopes.
Requirements
- Engineering Degree in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience in onshore directional drilling and completions.
- Strong expertise in directional drilling is preferred.
- Familiarity with Schlumberger Drill Plan/Drill Ops software is preferred.
- Deep-water subsea experience is preferred.
