Introduction

Our client is a leader in the renewable energy sector, currently developing a state-of-the-art electrolyzer facility in Gladstone. Committed to sustainability and innovation, this project aims to produce green hydrogen and drive the global transition to a low-carbon economy. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Site Engineer with expertise in Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) to join their team. This role offers the flexibility to be based in Gladstone or work on a 2:1 roster, providing an excellent opportunity to contribute to a significant environmental project.

About this role

Structural Engineering:

  • Design and oversee the construction of facility structures, ensuring they are safe, stable, and compliant with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress and quality, collaborating with architects and other engineers.

Mechanical Engineering:

  • Design and implement mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of machinery and mechanical
  • equipment, ensuring efficiency and performance.

Piping Engineering:

  • Design piping systems for the facility, preparing detailed drawings and specifications.
  • Supervise the installation of piping systems, ensuring they meet design specifications and safety standards.

Project Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage site activities to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure all site activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential hazards.

Quality Control:

  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain high standards of work.
  • Address and resolve any issues or defects that arise during construction.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate records of all site activities, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Piping Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in SMP engineering within large-scale industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, with proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices.
