Step up and claim pole position in a global cutting-edge electrochemistry laboratory.

This calls for a Materials Scientist with substantial experience in the research, development, evaluation, and testing in a laboratory setting, you will play an integral role in the development of materials selection for a wide range of applications which many include complex polymers, plastics, electrochemical studies, chemical conversion, and production.

You will be an up-and-coming leader in the field of chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials engineering and lead the R&D for the global leader.


Key accountabilities will include:

  • Participate in creating a knowingly safe working environment
  • Creatively contribute to the team in a positive manner while achieving stretch targets
  • Provide technical input into current and all future designs participating amongst leaders in the technology development team
  • Support the selection, evaluation, and development of materials to support the efficient production of green energy and green materials
  • Lead the establishment of a materials science laboratory for the development and evaluation of materials related to the production of green energy
  • Develop analytical methods for the creation and testing of coatings and or materials used in the field of green energy
  • Interface with engineering group to translate basic research into commercial systems and applications
  • Design, plan and conduct experiments and write technical report findings
  • Ensure IP protection of developed methods and processes through translating scientific research into patents
  • Lead the research and development of materials development and materials evaluation in an R&D setting
  • Participate the delivery of Sustainability activities

A few must haves:

  • PhD or Masters in Materials Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Polymer/Electro Chemistry
  • Experience in catalysts development, solid state materials development, electroactive materials development, electrolysis, electrochemistry, electrocatalysts, synthetic gas or green ammonia production an asset
