About this role: Senior Civil Engineer

Brunel has an exciting direct opportunity for a Senior Civil Engineerwith our client providing engineering and consulting services to the mining industry with a significant amount of work being civil and geotechnical engineering. This position is located in Denver, CO.

As a Senior Civil Engineer with our client, you will contribute in the design of major project elements and oversight of field construction for civil engineering projects primarily for the mining industry. Responsibilities of the position include management and preparation of design drawings and specifications, writing design reports, supervising engineering and technical staff, and marketing work.

This position is 3 days in office, 2 days work-from-home. Travel expected is 30%. Mainly domestic travel but could have some international travel.

Essential Functions:

  • Complete terrain modeling and design using Autodesk Civil 3D software to prepare construction design drawings.
  • Design and construction of mine infrastructure such as tailings storage facilities, heap leach pads and waste storage facilities.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently and meet deadlines so that issues are resolved, and projects completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare deliverables including technical specifications and engineering design reports.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with issues resolved and projects completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage small projects including costs and schedules.
  • Mentor junior engineers
  • Aid with marketing and client interactions

Requirements

  • Industry experience in Engineering & Environmental Consulting – Mining Industry.
  • Minimum BS in Civil, Geological or Mining Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience. Consulting experience preferred.
  • Registered Professional Engineer desired.
  • Excellent skills with Autodesk Civil 3D and advanced skills with Microsoft Office products required, intermediate skills with HEC and other engineering design software desired.
  • Position requires sitting for long periods of time and extended hours working on a computer.
  • Field assignments are located in a variety of climactic conditions and may require standing, squatting, bending and lifting up to 30 pounds over prolonged periods of time.
  • This position requires good written and oral communication skills, the ability to interface professionally with personnel and clients and the willingness to work in a highly collaborative environment.
