About this role: Project Controls Specialist I – Cost Admin

Brunel has an exciting opportunity for a Project Controls Specialist I – Cost Admin with our client who is a leading mining company.

This contractor position will be located initially working remote (WFH) and directly in the engineering providers offices in New Orleans, LA.

    About the Role

    • Under supervision, provides project controls support to Engineering and Construction in cost and schedule analysis, reporting, and general project controls support as directed by the Project Controls Manager.


    • Reviews change requests/notifications and change order proposals. Interfaces with the contracts team and other project control personnel to ensure PCNs are logged and processed through FCX change management system
    • Review and audit contractor equipment logs, time sheets, supplier invoices and contracts to check that equipment and personnel are utilized as specified
    • Assist in compilation of all weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports for the project
    • Assists in resource-planning & forecasting, including manpower forecasting, R&R rotation planning
    • Review the reported progress percentage based on the rules of credit established within the project with the contractors through coordination with construction personnel.
    • Assess the impact(s) of design or construction changes and associated cost growth and/or schedule slippages.
    • Work with project control lead to understand the basis and scope of estimates with respect to all project activities during and assist in analysis and forecasting
    • Assists in setting up cost control system for the project and helps maintain and audit for accuracy
    • Works closely with project controls team to timely publish project performance reports, forecasts, and schedules
    • Provide technical and commercial support to project team regarding Project Control deliverables
    • Reports to the Project Controls Manager



    • High School diploma or GED and three (3) years’ experience in engineering, construction, project controls or business-related field OR
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or closely related discipline or equivalent experience, and zero to two (2) years’ experienced

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
    • Ability to multi-task in a high paced project environment
    • Experience with mining and/or heavy industrial construction projects
    • Bahasa language capability is a plus


    • $500 a day
