About this role: Project Advisor

  • Responsible for performing project management and support activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects aligned with established organizational objectives.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key JV Partners, to facilitate project scoping, planning and review workshops; and to ensure that all JV Partners perspectives and business requirements are considered.
  • Analyze, assess and report on projects and provide recommendations to improve project and portfolio performance.
  • Provide quality assurance of all project documentation to ensure all aspects of projects are accurately captured in high quality planning and control documents.
  • Ensure appropriate project controls (risk, scheduling, budgetary and reporting) are applied to projects, delivering transparency and lead indicators for project performance.
  • Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Portfolio governance and reporting to deliver practical and robust policy, processes, tools and templates.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to undertake post implementation reviews and analysis whilst providing guidance and recommending solutions to key JV Partners.
  • Ability to review engineering work across all typical oil and gas project types, (Offshore, onshore and pipeline).
  • Understanding of contract scopes of work, and alignment with subcontractor scopes of work.
  • Ability to review and improve energy analysis performed by others for various project sizes and scopes.
  • Thorough comprehension of project management roles and responsibilities in project development, engineering, and construction.
  • Understands general construction methods and has the ability to work with the construction manager to implement projects.
  • Clear technical verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and financial analysis skills to predict customer project economics and manage project budgets.
  • Negotiation skills that protect company’s interests on a given project, while building rapport with internal and external partners and stakeholders.
  • Ability to create and execute project development and delivery schedules
  • Excellent adherence to schedule, and collaborative problem-solving skills to maintain budget, schedule, and quality.
  • High standards of accuracy, appearance, and thoroughness of project documentation
  • The successful candidate will be offered a good remuneration package in accordance with the company policy and will be working at our Kuala Lumpur office.

Requirements

  • A minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field with at least more than 15+ years of working experience in the oil & gas industry in different project stages.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, cost accounting and forecasting for oil & gas project. Knowledge of Project Management methodologies, processes and tools, (stage gate).
  • Familiarity with the national oil & gas company's established policies and procedures on project matters in a non-operated Joint Venture is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of facilities design, maintenance, operations and specifications with experience in accepted industry procedures, safety and environmental policies.
