Introduction

Brunel are partnering alongside a global supplier of heavy industry machinery to find an experienced Network Engineer. As a Network Engineer, your role will involve contributing to major projects based around the Brisbane area, with occasional responsibilities overseeing the deployment of new sites across Northern Queensland.

About this role

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external vendors, and partners to support and optimise network solutions.
  • Evaluate and assisting with the implementation of VXLan to replace OTV between our datacentres.
  • Perform network configurations, including routing, switching, Juniper Switch and Wireless rollout and firewall configuration.
  • Cisco Firewall FTD and Anyconnect upgrades.
  • SD-WAN rollout/support (Velocloud).
  • Implement network security measures and ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
  • Monitor network health and performance to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • New site deployments (some travel may be required to Northern QLD).

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 + years of experience in Network Engineering role.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology (or equivalent).
  • Industry certificates such at CCNP/ CCNA.
  • Full working rights in Australia (Citizenship or permanent residency preferred).
  • Experience working with network and security firewalls from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, Fortinet, Aruba.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles
  • Experience with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless and load balancers.
  • Familiarity with network virtualization technologies (e.g., VLAN, VXLAN)
  • Experience working with Cisco ISE, Nexus and UCS is highly desirable.
