Laboratory Technician I - Houston, TX

Brunel Energy is working with a major Oil and Gas company to hire a Laboratory Technician I in Houston, TX (Friendswood area) for a 6 month assignment.

A Laboratory Technician supports/assists the lab supervisors/chemists by performing routine and non-routine laboratory analysis/wet chemistry on product and in-process samples, to support plant operations for the purpose of quality assurance/control. Performs calibration and maintenance of test equipment. Prepares samples and ensure accurate data generation and records, in accordance with the standard operating procedures. Utilizes analytical instruments to address quality assurance/control issues. Prepares chemical stock solutions and reagents, as well as set preparation standards. This position will receive direction and support. The Lab Tech works with moderate work direction and is skilled and knowledgeable to the position.

• Bachelor of Science degree or other related fields
• Good lab practices
• Previous experience in quality control systems desirable
• Mechanically savvy
• Availability to work the night shift (6pm to 6am, Mon-Fri, 10 days on, 5 days off)
