About this role: Environmental IFC Advisor

Brunel Papua New Guinea are seeking an Environmental IFC Advisor to work with one of the largest energy companies in the world, who have assets in Oil & Gas, LNG and Renewable energy. Would suit individuals seeking opportunity and adventure in a culturally diverse and challenging landscape.

Reporting into the Environment Manager your role is to be the primary contact of the Lender’s consultant for environmental topics and supervises the review process. Prepare and communicate answers, schedule, annual plans, reporting, develop training support IFC compliance and liaise with Lender interface.

Activities of the role:

  • LNG’s Lenders Due Diligence
  • Play a leading role in the analyses of compliance with IFC environmental and social standards with respect to complaints received by Client, applying in-depth technical and strategic expertise and judgment.
  • Manage client Lender’s consultant audit engagement for environmental topics and supervises the review process
  • Take the lead for the environmental team (biodiversity, waste management. Water treatment, monitoring, erosion control) to provide requested information and respond to Lenders’ Consultant queries.
  • Maintain and update IFC’s sustainable policies, procedures, and performance standards, including engaging and coordinating with stakeholders
  • Develop material and provide necessary training to support IFC compliance • Manage annual plans for Lender auditor Activities
  • Prepare and communicate schedule
  • Manage all internal communication
  • Manage close out Reporting
  • Manage review of Lender Audit Report
  • Manage Lender recommendations
  • Liaise with Lender interface



  • A strong expertise in the Environmental discipline and IFC PS Due Diligence
  • Advanced knowledge of IFC's Sustainability Framework or other similar systems for identifying and managing environmental and social risks and impacts of projects
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent experience) in a relevant field including environment, social sciences, law, engineering, etc.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of relevant experience including the design, implementation, and writing of environmental and/or social compliance analysis
  • Advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities under high pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, including significant relevant experience in writing for publication and high-level presentation skills.
