The successful candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and delivering the technical roadmap while ensuring seamless integration of cloud-based solutions. Strong communication skills are a must, as the role involves articulating Azure service designs and motivating on-premises teams to transition to the cloud.

About this role

As the Senior Cloud Azure Architect, you will be at the forefront of designing infrastructure for container-based solutions and serverless applications. Your responsibilities will include managing Azure AKS, Kubernetes, and Azure Functions, as well as overseeing the implementation of public and private cloud-based landing zones and hosting solutions.

Automation will be a key focus, requiring proficiency in CI/CD concepts and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Biceps, and Azure ARM. Additionally, you will be tasked with integrating cloud operations services into existing service management processes and applying agile methodologies within SCRUM and SAFe environments. Stakeholder management will be essential as you engage in complex customer projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The important factor in this role is that you come from an engineering or DevOps background and grew towards the architect position. The reasoning behind this is so you're able to motivate teams with technical knowledge.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure architecture, automation, and workload management.
  • Proficiency in designing infrastructure for container-based solutions and serverless applications (Azure AKS, Kubernetes, Azure Functions).
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications and expertise in designing and managing public and private cloud-based landing zones.
  • Ability to lead architects and operators in designing, managing, and continuously improving mission-critical Azure solutions.
  • Experience in designing and implementing infrastructure operational procedures and cost management in the public cloud.
  • Automation mindset with experience in applying SRE practices and CI/CD concepts in infrastructure automation.
  • Familiarity with integrating cloud operations services and working in agile methodologies.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively in both Dutch and English.
  • Certifications in Azure, Agile, TOGAF, or other relevant architecture training, as well as proficiency in git, Azure DevOps, Ansible, PowerShell, etc.

This role requires a broad understanding of various topics, including DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC). However, the primary emphasis lies in effective communication and leadership skills to drive successful Azure service designs and facilitate the migration of on-premises teams to the cloud. The assignment location is primarily at the client's site in North Brabant (3 days at office est), with proficiency in English languages plus is Dutch.
