About this role

As a Manufacturing engineer NPI (new product introduction) you are part of a team that forms the basis of the production process of each product from a technical point of view. VDL ETG Precision is experiencing strong growth and as a result we are looking for reinforcement within our organization. Your main responsibilities:

  • You test the feasibility of new parts and give engineers suggestions for improvement.
  • You determine the manufacturing strategy and routing of complex products.
    Prepare product documentation that allows operators to produce the items on time, in the right quality and completeness.
  • Guiding the production process from the NPI (prototype) phase to the process control phase.
  • Supervising ongoing production from a technical point of view and making adjustments where necessary.
  • You continuously review every process with a view to structural improvement, with a business case forming the starting point of every improvement project.
  • You aim for cost price reduction.
  • In the production process you position yourself as a product owner.


  • A completed mbo/hbo education, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience as a work planner (senior), preferably with experience in turning, milling and complex assemblies.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in a dynamic technical production environment.
    Knowledge of machining techniques is a must.
  • Knowledge of the following processes is an advantage: cleaning processes, soldering processes and surface treatments.
  • You are eager to learn and willing to further expand your knowledge.
  • Knowledge of LEAN, 6σ, TPM, FMEA, 8D as well as CAD/CAM knowledge is an advantage.
  • You are a real go-getter, think in terms of solutions and have a healthy dose of stubbornness.
  • You are a team player but also independent, know how to set the right priorities and think out of the box.
