About this role: AUTOMATION ENGINEER - ROTTERDAM (OFFSHORE/MARITIME INDUSTRY)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join our team in Rotterdam, working in the offshore/maritime industry. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing automation systems for a variety of projects, including ships, offshore installations, and industrial installations. You will be involved in the engineering process from the proposal phase through to the delivery of engineering documents and will work closely with a team of engineers to ensure the successful completion of projects.

To be considered for this role, you should have a bachelor's or master's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Engineering, Technical Automation, or Electrical Engineering, and at least seven years of experience in the design and installation of complex automation systems. Fluent communication skills in Dutch and English (German is a plus) are also essential, as is the ability to work effectively in a complex project environment.

Requirements

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Developing specification documents, functional descriptions, schematic drawings, and test/validation plans;
  • Performing technical calculations to prove design;
  • Participating in design checks and reviews to ensure quality;
  • Performing cost analysis on vendor proposals;
  • Managing vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery;
  • Developing and describing standards and working methods;
  • Offering technical support and commissioning assistance to projects under contract.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have permanent multiyear EU citizenship and a permanent EU work visa.
