Wellfield Construction Superintendent

The Wellfield Construction Superintendent is responsible for leading and coordinating all wellfield construction activities to support safe, efficient, and reliable field development. This role oversees site preparation, trenching, HDPE piping installation, skid installation, electrical and instrumentation activities, and associated infrastructure projects.

As a key member of the Wellfield team, the Superintendent ensures construction projects are executed in accordance with engineering designs, regulatory requirements, environmental standards, safety expectations, and project schedules. This position provides field leadership for both internal crews and contractors while serving as a critical link between Engineering, Drilling, Mine Planning, Environmental, Operations, and Accounting teams.

This is a hands-on field engineering role requiring strong technical judgment, construction management expertise, and the ability to make timely decisions in dynamic operating environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise day-to-day wellfield construction activities, including:
  • HDPE piping installation and fusion
  • Electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Trenching and excavation
  • Site grading and preparation
  • Wellfield infrastructure development
• Manage construction crews and contractors to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
• Review engineering designs and utilize sound engineering judgment to identify field improvements, optimize constructability, and resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate site layout, excavation, pipe installation, skid placement, and well alignment to ensure quality and operational reliability.
• Develop, maintain, and execute construction schedules while coordinating multiple concurrent projects to minimize conflicts and delays.
• Monitor project performance against budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
• Ensure compliance with company safety programs, environmental regulations, engineering standards, and applicable operating procedures.
• Coordinate procurement, delivery, and inventory management of construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Conduct field inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and QA/QC requirements.
• Maintain accurate construction documentation, including daily reports, material tracking, field change records, and quality assurance documentation.
• Collaborate closely with Drilling, Wellfield Operations, Engineering, Mine Planning, Environmental, and Accounting teams to support project execution and operational objectives.
• Provide regular progress updates to management, including project status, risks, corrective actions, and resource requirements.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, construction management, project execution, or field operations within mining, industrial, infrastructure, energy, or related industries.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing field construction crews and contractors on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of HDPE piping systems, pipe fusion techniques, and piping design principles.
• Experience with pump systems, pump selection, instrumentation, process controls, and related infrastructure.
• Proven ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously while managing schedules, budgets, and contractor performance.
