Introduction

Brunel Australasia has partnered with one of the world's premier energy companies to find a Well Operations Supervisor to join their team on their sites based around Chinchilla, QLD.

What are you going to do 

As a Well Operations Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in planning and overseeing the safe and efficient execution of wellsite operations, ensuring compliance with local legislation and company policies. Your focus on health, safety, and environmental standards, as well as operational excellence, will contribute to the success of our clients dynamic projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the safe, efficient execution of wellsite operations.
  • Lead safety management practices such as Front-Line Barrier Management (FLBM), Assist and Assure (A&A) programs, Risk-Assessment, Site Safety Management (SSM), and Emergency Response, including acting as On-Scene Controller.
  • Quality Assure and Control (QA/QC) all aspects of operations, including equipment, personnel, procedures, and reporting to meet business objectives and ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate all execution parties and resources (rig, specialists, third-parties, logistics), ensuring alignment and efficient mobilization, execution, and demobilization.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, quality focus, and leadership development, mentoring onsite teams to enhance performance.
  • Manage incident reporting, investigations, and follow-up actions to prevent recurrence, and support contract management.
  • Oversee the management and operation of rigs, equipment, and systems within prescribed safety and performance parameters.
  • Develop detailed operational plans optimizing performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop well operations staff, promoting a culture of safety and innovation.
  • Assess and ensure the competence of contractor personnel, addressing deficiencies and ensuring all phases of the operation are fully staffed.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, promoting a safe, healthy, and inclusive work environment.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Strong leadership skills with extensive supervisory experience in drilling, workover, or intervention.
  • Candidates with Coiled Tubing & Wireline experience will be preferred.
  • IWCF Supervisory Level 4.
  • Working knowledge of EDM well engineering software packages or an equivalent system.
  • Experience with CSG drilling, workover or abandonment operations
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage both emergency and routine operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster a motivated, inclusive, and effective team environment.

What we offer 

  • Initially a 12 month contract
  • Based in Chinchilla with travel supplied from South East QLD.
  • 3/3 or 15/13 roster - 12 hour days
  • $1531 p/d including super (initially there will be a probation rate of $1431/day)
