Veterinarian DVM

We are seeking a Veterinarian (DVM) to join our clients team located in Fort McMurray, AB. This role operates in a small animal hospital and will focus on clinical work. This is a great opportunity for a DVM looking to develop their skills in surgical and dental procedures. The successful candidate will combine medical knowledge, teamwork, and emotional intelligence to deliver excellent patient care and client service. The successful candidate will work with a team consisting of the Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager, six RVT's, one Senior RVT, five Veterinary Assistants, and two DVM's. This is a full-time permanent opportunity available immediately. Additionally, relocation assistance is provided if deemed necessary.

The hospital itself is fully equipped for GP medicine, including an in-house laboratory, dedicated surgery suite, dental suite, and the equipment you would expect in a modern, well-established GP practice.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in delivering excellent patient care while contributing positively to the team environment.
• Provide wellness exams, client education, dentistry, rehabilitation, in-house grooming, and a variety of surgical procedures.
• Perform in-house diagnostics and support emergency cases.
• Work as a sole veterinarian in the clinic, managing your own caseload
• Perform soft tissue surgery including routine procedures such as spays, neuters, and mass removals.
• Conduct dental procedures, including scaling, polishing, and extractions.
• Manage and stabilize urgent and emergency cases as they arise.
• Contribute to treatment planning, medical decision-making, and continuity of care.
• Offer rehabilitation services and support general patient recovery plans.
